18 PhD Scholarships are available at the Public Transport Research Group, Monash University Australia.
Eighteen full-time, funded and exciting opportunities exist for graduate researchers to undertake PhD research into public transport as part of an interdisciplinary team working with industry partners. Six faculties from Monash will be working together with industry partners to investigate a diverse range of research topics on Sustainable and Effective Public Transport (SEPT) as part of the Monash University Public Transport Research Group, one of the leading research groups in the field. Industry partners for this program include Public Transport Victoria, Metro Trains, Yarra Trams, VicRoads, TransDev Melbourne and BusVic. The initiative is one of the new Monash Graduate Research Interdisciplinary Programs (GRIPs) that provide collaborative research, industry training, mentoring and internship opportunities to PhD students.
The SEPT-GRIP is an exciting opportunity to make real change addressing the challenges facing the future of public transport. It is the largest joint PhD initiative ever undertaken. SEPT-GRIP includes an advanced, collaborative professional development program based in the field with industry. Expressions of interest are sought from outstanding candidates for PhD study in a wide range of fields including engineering, industrial design, IT, mathematics, criminology, health and tourism.
